Best cards for average or below average credit scores?

My score is at 635 and I am having trouble finding a credit card that doesn't have ridiculously high interest rates. I wanted to get another one since I closed 3 of them last year, paying off the debts. Had I known the interest rates would be this bad, I would have kept one of the older ones open.

Discover it Secured seems to be a good one. They offer cashback and simply steps to help build credit. The APR is 22% which is a bit high but this is for average to below average credit so it is to be expected.

It is hard to say right now because the percentages for these cards are all over the place. A lot of people are signing on for credit as well because of the Covid-19 outbreak. It is probably best to check your credit rating and then look at options based on your score.

I can give you some suggestions but it wouldn't match up well for you if we are not in the right area. You can see what your options are by applying for them online. Just make sure the ones you apply for don't have penalties for getting declined.

That page will give you an idea for fair and average scores and seems to update each much. Give a look at it.

@lavinia This seems to be the best post I have seen on the topic. It is hard to recommend cards for people because everyone has different scores and lives in different areas.
